The cafe called New Chapter by The Owls located in Bukit Jalil recently opened their newest outlet, The Owls Cafe in One Space, One City (subang kids rejoice!).

The cafe is actually in One Space, which is part of One City (don’t get lost just like I did, park at One Space so it’s easier!). Look for The Square, it’s around that area.

We were told by the waiter that there are two waffles named after the owners of the cafe, which are ‘Rebecca’ and ‘David’. We only ordered waffle and fries since we just finished gym (I know, so healthy huh! After gym eat dessert & fried food haha!) and we were about to eat dinner in 1 hour’s time. And as usual, we ordered only water (it’s free) for our drinks 🙂

food3
Rebecca Waffle (RM18)
Topped with bananas, strawberries, blueberries and also some coconut, almond flakes. The coconut flakes and maple syrup enhances the taste in my opinion. The earl grey ice cream located in the middle of the waffle blends in nicely. Jake mentioned that this waffle reminds him of an ‘English Waffle’, probably because of the earl grey ice cream hahaha!

food
Sea Salt Mixed Fries (RM12)
It is basically a mixture of sweet potato fries (yum!) and regular shoestring fries, with a touch of sea salt. They will ask you for your preference of sauces which are chili, tomato and mayonnaise. We opted for chili and mayonnaise. I really love sweet potato which is why I gave this a try. To me there isn’t anything special about this, but I love sweet potato so I’m still satisfied with it! 😀

I would probably visit this cafe again for the environment and also to try their mains like pasta or their breakfast menu. It’s quite comfy to do work, study or just chit chat with your friends. Plus, during our whole time there they played all the songs I like (Coldplay, Shane Ward, Snow Patrol etc.)!!

Take note though, my sister mentioned that it was quite hot when she visited the cafe in the afternoon the other day. We went there around 5.30pm so it wasn’t hot for us.

21st Birthday @ The Forum KL, Desa Sri Hartamas

So we had 4 people born in October (parents planned since January, if you get the drift), we usually celebrate all of their birthdays at one go because there’s just too many birthdays in one month! We had our dinner at The Forum which is located in The Signature Serviced Suites & Studios, Desa Sri Hartamas.

We bought the ‘Happy Birthday’ balloons from J&D Store in Summit USJ. They have a few other party stuff along with a bunch of toys so you can check them out, reasonable price as well.

As for the cake, we got it from PetiteSyireen CustomCakes (based in USJ4 Subang Jaya). This is our second time ordering from her as we loved her chocolate cake, the sweetness of the chocolate is just right.. not too sweet or too bland.

I didn’t take many pictures of the interior or food.. these are some of the food that we ordered. The Mexican burger (RM29) as well as the Oven Roasted Chicken (RM30) were the ones that I didn’t took a picture of.

edited4The Forum Burger RM40
The burger consists of beef patty, mayonnaise and cheddar cheese, served with fried onion rings and salad at the side. This was the burger that I ordered, it tasted a little bit dry to me though but the onion rings were good.

edited2Ayam Masak Lemak RM26
Served with steamed rice and prawn crackers. My friend Siang Siang ordered this and mentioned that it was okay, however she wouldn’t spend that much on something like this again as you can just get a cheaper version which taste just as same.

edited3Pesto Salmon Spaghetti RM31
Three of my friends ordered this, two of them however mentioned that it tasted a little bland. It’s basically spaghetti with pesto sauce served with salmon.

edited5Salmon Steak RM39
You should not order this if you are a big eater. There’s nothing much aside from the salmon itself as well as some corn, green lentils, couscous and salad at the side.

Overall, I would say The Forum KL is a place with great atmosphere, high ceilings and windows. Good for a date perhaps? Or a large group of friends. They do catering as well like a buffet or any events. Since we came at night, we didn’t get to see how it would look like daytime. I think the place would look nicer during the day compared to night as natural sunlight will appear through the windows and thus, nicer pictures too (my phone & camera can’t handle the bad lighting thus bad quality pictures were taken 😛 hehehe)

After dinner, some of us ended up at Murni USJ to play some monopoly deal (because somebody was so eager to play HAHAH jokes love you) and have supper since some of us were still hungry.
